The journal of General Dentistry in June of this year reported drinking large quantities of soda can be as damaging to your teeth (tooth erosion) as methamphetamine and crack cocaine use! Tooth erosion occurs when acid wears away tooth enamel. Without enamel, teeth are more susceptible to developing cavities, as well as becoming sensitive, cracked, and discolored. The citric acid present in both regular and diet soda is known to have a high potential for causing tooth erosion. The ingredients used in preparing methamphetamine can include extremely corrosive materials such as battery acid, lantern fuel, and drain cleaner. Crack cocaine is also highly acidic in nature.

Folks this is in a large part because caffeine is in the same drug classification as cocaine!  They both are a white powdery substance which leads to enamel wear and tear.  There are no good sodas out there.  Regular ones are full of sugar and diet ones lead to more sugar cravings and are loaded with toxins that harm your brain (excitotoxins).

Best to stick with spring water (NOT drinking water) and dilute juice for your thirst quenching needs.  If you like sports drinks for the electrolytes....stay away from the name brands that are full of sugar.  Just drink water with a small pinch of salt or magnesium to get your electrolytes!
