According to the November 2012 issue of Pediatrics, states with booster seat requirements for children up to 6-7 years olds were found to have a 35% lower rate of mortality and incapacitating injuries. States which had booster seat laws for children up to ages 4-6 had 20% lower death and incapacitating injury rates from car accidents than those without the laws.
Good to know for you parents with little ones. Remember a child should NEVER sit in the front seat, particularly if you have air bags. Be sure to do you research on safety for all cars purchased. In case you didn't know, Volvo is the safest of all cars on the road. To see some of these features check out http://www.volvocars.com/us/top/about/iihs-crash-test/Pages/default.aspx.
Have a blessed day!
