SOUTHERN DIET AND STROKE RISK
According to the February 2013 issue of the American Stroke Association, people from the American South are 20% more likely to have a stroke than those from other parts of the country, and the Southern diet may be to blame. People who eat Southern style food high in fat, sugar, and salt at least 6 times a week were at 41% higher risk for a stoke. People whose diets consisted of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains at least 5 times a week were 29% less likely to have a stroke.
Good to keep in mind. Have a blessed weekend!
