Many folks these days are getting hip replacements. This is actually a very invasive procedure which is treated as "routine" these days. I thought you may want to know that according to the medical journal "Stroke" in November 2012 found hemorrhagic stroke and ischemic stroke risk is ~4% higher within 2 weeks of total hip replacement surgery. A hemorrhagic stroke is brought on by bleeding in the brain, while an ischemic stroke is brought on by arterial blockage. Total hip replacement is extremely common in the United States. Around 1 million hip replacement surgeries are done around the world every year, 300,000 in the United States alone.
Its important to discuss these risks with your surgeon prior to agreeing to a hip replacement surgery. Please share this with anyone you know considering surgery!
Have a blessed day!
